Burglars Break In, Take 5 Food Coolers From Former Mill Race Inn

Police reports: While showing the building to a potential buyer, real estate broker finds that restaurant was burglarized.

Someone broke into the former , 4 E. State St., and took five large food coolers sometime between the middle of July and the middle of August, according to police reports.

Geneva police responded to the report of a burglary to the around 4:45 p.m. Sept. 1. Upon arrival, a real estate broker associate showed the officer where wood beams and the glass on one of the main doors had been broken.

The main doors are double doors located on the southeast corner of the business. The top half of each door is glass and the southernmost door is the one that was damaged, reports said.

When the officer and real-estate agent walked through the property, they discovered that five large coolers for storing food were missing.

Police contacted the property owner, who said the coolers were taken sometime between mid July and mid August.

Police reports said the real-estate broker had been showing the property to a potential buyer, when the break-in was reported to police on Sept. 1.
