Burglar Takes Tools from Electrician's Van

A burglar got into a van parked in a driveway and got away with more than $1,500 in property.

Burglary from motor vehicle—A burglar stole more than $1,500 worth of tools and other items from a 2006 Econoline van as it sat in a driveway of the 2800 block of Miller Road. The items are valued at more than $1,500, police said.

The vehicle is owned by Connor Electric, Streamwood. Police reports said the crime scene—in this case, the van's interior—was contaminated because the vehicle's operator drove it to the police station to file the report.
