Bicycle Stolen From Someone Moving Into a New Condo
Be careful when you're moving, because it's easy for stuff to be taken.
Two reports of stolen bicycles popped up in last week's police report. The bicycling weather is running out, but it's still a good time to remember to secure your bike.
Theft Over $500—Someone took a yellow men’s mountain bike from outside , 65 North River Lane, sometime between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 1, reports said. The bicycle is valued at $550.
Theft Under $500—Someone took a gray Trek 15 bicycle valued at $150 from the common area garage located at 100 North River Lane sometime between Sept. 28 and Sept. 30, reports said. The resident was moving into a new condominium, and movers were in and out of the garage. The bicycle was not secured and the garage was left open until she closed it at 9:30 p.m., the owner told police.

Theft Under $500—Someone took two specialized red bicycle tires with black rims from a residence in the 2300 block of Kaneville Court sometime between 5:40 p.m. Sept. 30 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 3, reports said. The bicycle was locked on the bike rack at the southeast corner of the train depot, but the tires were not secured. The tires were valued at $100.
