Be Careful of Car Burglars While You're Out Shopping in Geneva

Police reports: Three cars parked in the Geneva Commons lot are burglarized in a 30-hour period.

Geneva police reports showed three cars parked in the Geneva Commons parking lot were burglarized between 4:15 p.m. Dec. 12 and 9 p.m. Dec. 13.

Police have said repeatedly that the is to lock your car doors and keep valuables someplace other than inside the car and in plain sight. That's good advice to remember no matter how busy we get with .

Here are the three reports picked up Monday from the Police Department:

Car Burglary—Someone took about $500 of electronic equipment from a vehicle parked in the parking lot outside DSW Shoes, 602 Commons Drive, sometime between 4:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.  Dec. 12, reports said. The burglar or burglars took a Toshiba computer valued at $350 and an Apple iPod vauled at $150, reports said.

Car Burglary—Someone took a massage chair from a vehicle parked in the lot behind 126 Commons Drive sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 13, reports said. The car was unattended and unlocked. The burglar or burglars took about $1 in change from the front counsel area and a massage chair valued at $350 from the trunk, reports said.

Car Burglary—Someone took about $10 in change from a car parked in the 100 block of Commons Drive sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 13, reports said. The car was unattended and unlocked, according to police reports.
