Batavia Woman Charged for Punching Ex-Boyfriend at His Geneva Workplace

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Geneva restaurant employee was confronted by his ex-girlfriend at work, where she started slapping and punching him in the face after an argument, according to police reports.

Geneva police arrested Saaira Hernandez, 19, of Batavia, on charges of domestic battery-bodily harm and domestic battery-insulting or provoking contact for an incident that took place at about 4:59 p.m. March 7 at Foxfire restaurant, 17 W. State St., reports said.

A witness told police he saw a female punching a male subject. The man told police his ex-girlfriend, Hernandez, showed up at his place of work, where the victim and Hernandez got into an argument.

Hernandez “began pushing, slapping and punching (the victim) in the face with her fists,” the synopsis sheet said.

The victim “advised that he just held his hand out to keep Hernandez from further striking him as he called police,” according to reports. Hernandez left the scene but reported to the Geneva Police Department on March 8, where she told police she did not speak with the victim at his workplace.
