Batavia Police ID Deceased Aurora Man Found Near Fox River Trail

Police observe head trauma in Brett C. Straight, 46, of Aurora, whose body was found Monday along the Fox River.

Police have identified the 46-year-old man who was found unconscious and not breathing Monday morning near the Fox River in Batavia.

The man is Brett C. Straight of the 200 block of East New York Street in Aurora, according to a press release.

Trauma was observed in the area of Straight's head, the release said.

An autopsy on Straight's body has been completed by the Kane County Coroner's Office, but the cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.

on the shoreline of the Fox River in an area east of the 500 block of North Batavia Avenue, police said.

A west-side portion of the Fox River Trail in Batavia wasthe incident. The area stretched from a point about 50 feet south of the Fabyan Bridge all the way to Houston and Water streets near the Batavia Depot Museum in the city's downtown.
