Batavia Police Charge 4 After Spate of Residential Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Batavia Police Department has arrested four people on a variety of charges connected to the recent spate of residential burglaries on the city's southeast side, which took place when residents were in their homes.

Three burglaries were reported in the 900 to 1200 blocks of Woodland Hills Drive and the 1600 block of Wagner Road between Aug. 5 and Aug. 14, 2013.

The four persons were arrested on charges in cooperation with the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. They are:

  • Terrell Jones-Bradley, 21, of Batavia, charged with two counts of residential burglary, one count of attempted residential burglary and two counts of unlawful use of a credit card.
  • Gregory Jordan Jr., 26, of Batavia, charged with two counts of unlawful use of a credit card.
  • Curtis A. Hobbs, 23, of Aurora, charged with two counts of unlawful use of a credit card.
  • Sharonda Y. Moore, 22, of Batavia, charged with one count of possession of stolen property.

Residential burglary, attempted burglary, and unlawful use of a credit card are felonies.

The suspects are awaiting bond call on Aug. 16, and the case remains open as an "active investigation," according to a Batavia Police Department press release.

"The Batavia Police Department encourages all residents to continue to close and secure their residences, particularly during the nighttime hours and hours when residents are not at home," the release said. "Please report any suspicious persons or activity immediately by calling 911."

The department asks anyone with additional information to contact the Police Department at 630-454-2500.
