Batavia Locker Room Ransacked During Nov. 30 Basketball Game, Celebration

Eight separate theft reports are filed for items ranging from $10 in cash to a $700 cell phone.

While the Batavia basketball team was playing at the Batavia Windmill City Classic and the Bulldogs were celebrating the football team's first-ever state football championship, someone was apparently taking advantage of the distraction and taking whatever they could get their hands on in the high school locker room.

According to Batavia police reports, a person or persons took multiple items from a locker room at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St., at around 8 p.m. Nov. 30. Eight theft reports were filed at around 3:13 a.m. Dec. 1, and according to those reports, someone took:

  •  Soul headphones valued at $150.
  • An iPhone 4S valued at $100 and a charging case valued at $90.
  • A Galaxy S4 valued at $300 and a bank debit card.
  • An iPhone 5S valued at $700.
  • An S Phone valued at $500.
  • About $5 in cash.
  • A pair of headphones valued at $300.
  • About $10 in cash.

Earlier that day, the Batavia Bulldogs defeated Oak Lawn Richards in the Class 6A state championship game at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb. The football team returned to town to join the basketball team for a halftime celebration in honor of the win.
