The Batavia blotter for the week prior to Jan. 6 is full of interesting incidents that did not include arrests. Here are the reports presented in the Batavia Police Department “Daily Report Synopsis, Media/Public Version.”

Files Removed From Pure Imagination

Two subjects were involved in the removal of items and files from Pure Imagination, Inc., 12 E. Wilson St., according to a report filed at 5 p.m. Jan. 6. The entry was filed under the category of “civil matter.”

Missing Adult Reported to Police

A woman told police that her daughter called at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 4 saying she was walking home from work in the 0-99 block of East Wilson Street, but had not returned, according to a report filed at 3:46 a.m.

Aldi Employee Finger Wedged By Forklift

Batavia officers responded to Aldi Corporation, 1399 Douglas Road, for a report of an injured employee, filed at 12:41 a.m. Jan. 3. According to reports, an employee from Elgin sustained injury to his finger when it became wedged between a forklift and a metal storage rack. The man was transported to Delnor Hospital.

Bad Check for Good Gas?

According to Batavia police reports, a woman came into the Batavia Avenue Mobil, 27 N. Batavia Ave., and paid for $65 worth of gasoline with a temporary check. It was later discovered that the bank would not accept the check. The report was filed at 12:44 p.m. Jan. 3.

Child Abuse Reported

A Batavia police officer responded to the 400 block of Walnut for a report of possible child abuse that occurred when the victim and adult were driving in a car earlier in the day, according to a report at 7:39 p.m. Dec. 28. The 9-year-old victim told police his father struck him in the ribs five times, and witnesses supported the victim’s claim. Medical assistance was refused and the Department of Children and Family Services was contacted and a report filed.

Threats Made in Form of Poem?

A letter/poem was found on a subject’s vehicle in the 1300 block of Clybourne St., according to a report at 1:55 a.m. Dec. 25. An extra patrol was requested.

Scam Seeks Money Pak

A victim who resides in the 1500 block of Charleston told police he has been receiving calls directing him to obtain a Money Pak in the amount of $250 and to forward the funds to the caller or face having his electricity discontinued. An investigation indicated that this was a scam. No funds were transferred.
