Alarm Goes Off, But All is Well at Heartland Elementary in Geneva

This just in from School District 304: A fire alarm did go off and the school was evacuated, but not

A fire alarm went off at Heartland Elementary School, and the building was evacuated, but there was no worry—it was a false alarm, officials said.

An e-mail from School District 304 reported that students were evacuated "due to a false fire alarm."

"Firefighters came and identified the fire sensor which they believe was triggered by either dust or an insect. All staff and students remained safe during the course of the evacuation," said an e-mail alert from 304 Connects, a Geneva Community School District 304 subscription service.
