The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
A Geneva man arrested on domestic battery charges got another charge tacked on after he kicked a Geneva police officer in the abdomen.
Geneva police arrested Victor Ajazi, 41, of Geneva around 7:20 p.m. Feb. 16 in a parking lot in the 0-100 block of Simpson Street on charges of domestic battery bodily harm to a family member and domestic battery insulting or provoking contact, reports said. He also was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer.
According to police reports, Ajazi is the live-in boyfriend of the victim. Reports said Ajazi spit in the victim’s face and pushed her with two hands in the chest area, forcing her to stumble back. Upon attempting to place Ajazi in the squad car, Ajazi “resisted by barricading himself against the opening of the door.” Once inside, Ajazi kicked a police officer in the abdomen, according to reports.
