Accident Reports: Injuries to People, Cars, Mailboxes and at Least One Guardrail

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Accidents collected from Geneva police reports last week show an accident with injuries, a car or cars that apparently ran down a bunch of mailboxes and a damaged guardrail.

Accident With Injuries at South Randall and Fargo—The front of a Toyota RAV4 driven by Debra Sandberg, 60, of St. Charles collided with the front of a Jeep Cherokee driven by Lee Felski, 43,of Batavia around 6 p.m. Nov. 22 at the intersection of South Randall Road and Fargo Boulevard, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Both drivers were taken to Delnor Hospital, reports said. Sandberg was cited for making an illegal left turn and has a court date of 9 a.m. Dec. 13, reports said.

Hit and Run—An unknown vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Silverado parked in the lot at 1596 South Randall Road around 8:50 a.m. Nov. 22, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to the vehicle.

Accident on Randall Road—The front of a Jeep Liberty driven by Alison Moran, 16, of Geneva collided with a County Highway Department guardrail in the 600 block of South Randall Road near Kaneville Road around 9:57 a.m. Nov. 22, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to the Jeep.

Accident at 480 George Court—The rear of a Honda CRV driven by Marie Hennessey, 72, of Geneva collided with the front of a Toyota RAV4 driven by Laura Kersten, 30, of Sycamore around 10:30 a.m. in private property in the 400 block of George Court near Cambridge Court, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Randall Road—The front of a Honda Accord driven by Karen Sizer, 62, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Nissan Altima driven by Gloria Navarro, 48, of Aurora around 5:42 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 200 block of North Randall Road near Williamsburg Avenue, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Sizer was issued a warning ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Accident on West State Street—The rear of a Lincoln MKS driven by Kenneth Schaub, 86, of Geneva collided with the front of a Toyota Corolla driven by Laura Vick, 47, of St. Charles around 2:28 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 200 block of West State Street near Third Street, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Hit and Run to Mailboxes—An unknown vehicle or vehicles smashed into several mailboxes in Geneva between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Nov. 19, reports said. A mailbox was struck by a vehicle in the 1600 block of Eagle Brook drive at around 9 p.m., in the 2200 block of Vanderbuilt Drive around 10:56 p.m. and in the 2100 block of Vanderbuilt Drive around 10:58 p.m., reports said. There is no indication that the events are related. There was no estimate as to the value of the property damage.
