Accident Reports: Hit and Run After Weird Lane Change at Fabyan and Kirk

A few cases of strange driving accompany the usual no-fault fender-benders in this week's police blotter.

and sometimes write about in the area. There is some proof of that from the police reports.

The first of two accident roundups from the Geneva police blotter this week is highlighted by the first item below—a hit and run in which the driver of one vehicle reportedly cut around a car making the standed left turn in the left-turn lane.

Hit and Run on Fabyan Parkway near Kirk Road—A Dodge Ram driven by an unknown driver struck the front of a Ford Taurus driven by a West Chicago man around 7 a.m. Sept. 19 in the 1500 block of Fabyan Parkway about 15 feet east of Kirk Road, reports said. The driver of the Taurus told police he was westbound on Fabyan Parkway in the turn lane preparing for a left when the Dodge Ram changed lanes and cut directly in front of his Taurus, which struck the Ram in the rear. The Dodge Ram continued south without stopping or providing any information to the West Chicago driver. Police attempted to find the Dodge Ram, but without success. The Taurus required a tow and sustained more than $1,500 damage, reports said.

Accident on Route 38—The front of a Toyota Corolla driven by Nancy Soltess, 78, of Warrenville collided with the driver’s side of a Ford Taurus driven by Daniel Rogalla, 18, of Geneva around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in the 1000 block of West State Street near Kaneville Road, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. 

Accident in the Geneva Commons Parking Area—The rear passenger side of a Honda Odyssey driven by Heather Woodward, 41, of South Elgin collided with the passenger side of a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Melissa Steinmeier, 33, of Geneva around 1:10 p.m. Sept. 21 in the Geneva Commons parking area, 200 North Randall Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Fairway Circle—The rear of a Honda Odyssey driven by Neuza Knight, 54, of Geneva collided with the front of a parked Buick Century in the 1600 block of Fairway Circle around 12:43 p.m. Sept. 19, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.
