A Four-Car Chain Reaction Among Accidents and Hit-and-Runs

Police reports: Here's some of the traffic accidents as reported by Geneva police.

Here are some of the accidents reported in the Geneva Police Department blotter.

Four-Car Pileup—Four vehicles collided in an apparent chain reaction at the intersection of East State Street and East Side Drive around 4:40 p.m. Jan. 31, reports said. The front of a Ford Explorer Trac driven by Antonio Aguilar-Corte of Geneva collided with the rear of a Honda Ridgeline driven by Mary Ann Scaletta of Sycamore, which collided with the rear of a Ford Escape driven by Brica Russell of West Chicago, which collided with the rear of a city-of-Geneva-owned Chevrolet Impala driven by Charles Parisi of Geneva. No one was injured, but more than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle, reports said.

Slick Road Leads to Crash—More than $1,500 damage was done to a Mercury Montenegro driven by Nickolas Birkett of Geneva around 4 a.m. Feb. 2 in the 200 block of Peyton Street, reports said. Birkett was travelling north on North Third Street onto Peyton Street when the Mercury began to slide “and lose control due to the snow-covered street,” reports said. The Mercury spun in the opposite direction, went over the curb and struck a tree in the parkway.

Sebring Collides with Toyota—A Chrysler Sebring driven by Robert Martin of Aurora collided with the driver’s side of a parked Toyota Land Cruiser owned by Herbert Stith around noon Jan. 27 at 1131 Randall Court, causing between $501 and $1,500 damage, reports said.

Misubish versus Ford E150—The front of a Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Mitchell Christenson of Geneva collided with the rear of a Ford E150 driven by John Richmond of Aurora around 4:24 p.m. Jan. 28 is the 600 block of South Peck Road, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Christenson was issued a warning ticket for following too closely.

Hit and Run—An unknown vehicle struck a Toyota Highlander parked parked at 1357 Viking Drive around 4:19 p.m. Jan. 5, reports said. Damage was estimated at $500 or less.

Collision on Anderson Boulevard—The front of a Honda Civic driven by Tarren Modjeski of Geneva collided with the rear of a Ford Escort driven by Christopher Higham of Geneva around 8:53 p.m. Jan. 30 in the 800 block of Anderson Boulevard, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Mojeski was driving south on Anderson Boulevard when she swerved to the right to avoid an animal running across the road. Mojeski’s Civic was towed from the scene, and Mojeski was issued a warning ticket for improper lane usage.
