A Few Familiar Names and Places in the Accident Reports Collected This Week

Popular accident spots—West State Street, Kaneville Road and the parking lot of Geneva Commons—and a few familiar names were seen in the police blotter accident reports collected Monday, July 11, from the Geneva Police Department.

Accident on River Lane—The front of a Bentley Continental driven by Kent Shodeen, 73, of Geneva collided with the front driver’s side of a Honda Accord driven by Barbara Reed, 78, of Geneva around 6:20 p.m. July 6 at the intersection of River Lane and West State Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on East State Street—The front of a Buick Regal driven by Deborah O’Connell, 58, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Honda Accord driven by Molly Roschmann, 49, of St. Charles around 2:42 p.m. July 6 in the 1500 block of East State Street about 100 feet east of Kirk Road, reports said. Less than $500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Hit and Run—An unknown vehicle hit the driver’s side of a Ford Explorer parked in the 700 block of Logan Avenue near Gray Street, reports said. More than $1,500 damage was done to the Explorer.

Accident on East State Street—The rear of a Buick Century driven by Dylan Helmeid, 19, of Geneva collided with an unknown vehicle in the 1100 block of East State Street near Glengarry Drive around 5:40 p.m. June 17, reports said. Helmeid was unable to obtain information from the other driver, reports said.

Accident on Kaneville Road and West State Street—A Mercedes Benz EL50 driven by Etienne Vanniekzek, 54, of Elburn collided with the rear of a Honda CRV driven by Elizabeth Omurra, 52, of Geneva around 6:40 p.m. July 5 at the intersection of Kaneville Road and West State Street, reports said. Less than $500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident in Geneva Commons Parking Lot—A Nissan Xterra driven by Dale Van Leeowen, 49, of Campton Hills collided with the rear of a parked Mercedes C280 owned by Kathleen Brown, 53, of Geneva around 5:13 p.m. July 3 in the Geneva Commons parking lot, in the 700 block of North Randall Road, reports said. Less than $500 damage was done to any one vehicle.

Accident on Cheever Avenue—The lawn trailor of a Chevrolet F3500 driven by Loreto Lopez, 32, of Carpentersville collided with the front of a Lexus GX470 driven by David Lobdell, 50, of Geneva around 3:45 p.m. July 1 on Cheever Avenue near the intersection of Dunstan Road, reports said. Lopez was backing at the intersection when he did not see Lobdell’s Lexus. Lopez was issued a warning notice for improper backing. Between $500 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle, reports said.
