71-Year-Old Motorcycle Driver Crashes on Blackman Road

A school bus is in the area but not involved in the crash, police say.

A 71-year-old motorcycle driver attempting to pass a vehicle crashed on Blackman Drive at the intersection of Blackman Court around 3:05 p.m. May 6, Geneva police reports said.

Kenneth Musil, 71, of Geneva was driving a Honda CN250 east on Blackman Drive while a GMC Cutaway driven by Sandra Roman, 54, of Bartlett was stopped eastbound in the intersection of Blackman Drive waiting to turn left onto Blackman court.

The motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on the left as the GMC was activating its turn signal, reports said. Musil “made an evasive action to avoid striking” the GMC, lost control and crashed on the driver’s right side of the motorcycle.

A Geneva Patch reader asked if there had been an accident involving a school bus that day, but Geneva police Cmdr. Eric Passarelli said that was not the case.
