3 Vehicle Burglaries in First Week of December

Police reports: Keep an eye out for vehicle burglaries during the holiday season.

It's always a good idea to lock your car and keep valuables out of sight, but it's especially true this time of year, when potential burglars are waiting to find that holiday gift on the front or back seat.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took a laptop computer, Citylite Notebook carrying case, Navy blue peacoat style jacket, Sprint cellphone and Belkin FM transmitter from a Nissan Maxima parked in the 0-100 block of Burgess Road sometime between 4 p.m. Dec. 1 and 6 a.m. Dec. 2, reports said. The total value of the items was estimated at $1,160.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took tools and medication from a Ford Explorer parked in the 100 block of Howard Street sometime between 11 p.m. Dec. 3 and 9:38 a.m. Dec. 4, reports said. The tools include a Dewalt air compressor, skill saw and rotor, a Senco penny nailer, crown stapler and finish nailer as well as a black backpack. The estimated value of the tools was $1,080.

Vehicle Burglary—Someone took an iPod charging cord from an Infiniti G20 parked in the 700 block of Foxrun Drive sometime between midnight and 7:15 a.m. Dec. 4, reports said. The owner said it appeared the offender rummaged through the vehicle’s contents but nothing else appeared missing. The charging cord has an estimated value of $20.
