3 Rings Valued at $15K Reported Stolen—Years Ago—From Geneva Home

Theft Over $500—Three rings are gone, taken sometime between 2009 and 2011.

The three rings in the Tolkien trilogy were the property of elves and wielded mysterious powers.

A mystery of another sort has appeared in Geneva police reports, involving three rings reported missing from the bedroom of a Geneva home.

According to Geneva police reports, someone took a wedding band, engagement ring and the ring of the owner's grandmother. The rings had a combined value of $15,000.

They were taken from a dresser drawer inside the bedroom of a home in the 1400 block of Miller Road. But what's even more curious than the "where" in this story is the "when."

The rings were taken sometime between 10 a.m. June 20, 2009, and Oct. 14, 2011, reports said. The report does not say why the complainant took so long to report the crime or suggest any suspects.
