3 Accused in BB Gun Incident Released From Jail

The three people in a traffic stop that caused school lockdowns Monday only spent a couple hours in jail before they posted bond, according to records.

The three people in a traffic stop that caused Geneva schools to lockdown on Monday are already out of custody, according to jail records.

Oswego residents Hector J. Rubio, 18, Michael P. Thompson, 20, and Auroran Elle P. Fowler, 18, each posted $150 bond and were released from the Kane County Jail Monday night. The amount was 10 percent of their $1,500 bail.

The three accused were booked into the county jail between 4:22 p.m. and 4:37 p.m. Monday, jail records show. The table below on this page lists the times each person was released from the jail that night:

Accused Jan. 14 Jail Release Time Michael P. Thompson 7:27 p.m. Hector J. Rubio 9:46 p.m. Elle P. Fowler 10:06 p.m.

Future court dates for their cases were not immediately available.

Fowler, Rubio and Thompson each were charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct following the traffic stop, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

The incident began when the three accused were inside a car at about 3:15 p.m. Monday in Sugar Grove. Someone in the car fired several shots from an Airsoft pistol at another car, according to the Sheriff's Office. Airsoft guns shoot plastic BBs and other projectiles, but are designed to look like real firearms.

The car that was fired upon followed the other car, and they ended up at South Mill Creek Drive and Fabyan Parkway at about 3:30 p.m. Since police initially did not know the gun was an Airsoft pistol, two Geneva schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Fabyan Elementary School, which is located at Mill Creek and Fabyan, was on lockdown for fewer than 15 minutes, according to a Geneva School District 304 press release. Geneva Middle School North and Geneva Middle School South were on lockdown for several minutes.

"Because the schools were in lockdown, all doors were closed and locked, and staff, parents and students were not allowed to leave the buildings," the release said.

The situation was controlled and the lockdown order lifted at about 3:45 p.m. Monday.

Hope all of you Dem's have your Obamaphones, welfare checks, and unfunded Illinois pensions workin'Read More for you. Democrats are destroying IL. Business and real estate is rockin' in Republican states. Get it?

Martina, were you upset when Cheney and Bush implemented the NSA programs? The real estate isRead More booming in CA, last time I checked it was a BLUE state. Fracking, oil, and shale are booming in RED states, so is that a good thing? Not really, I would like to get off of all fossil fuels.

We have 24 hours to find a foster for these babies! We are pulling 8 from this Animal ControlRead More Facility and would love to rescue these 5 tiny pups too. Fostering is an amazing experience for your entire family and Casey's SAfe Haven pays all of the costs to foster. We provide food, vet care, crate, puppy playpen, toys, etc. You provide plenty of love, socialization and since they are puppies we hope you have a lot of newspaper! I have to agree with the others who are disappointed with the new format of Patch. The old versionRead More had more zip and more interesting topics. Now it has become very blah! I am sorry but change is not always a good thing. Fred Cregier

The link provided by LW Sagan explains why the Patch is becoming irrelevant and that is a shame. IRead More don't even think Rick Nagel can save it.

Chris, I have another story of waste in the County to add to your fix-it lists: We received,Read More yesterday, our new voters registration cards from John Cunningham's office, telling us that our polling place will be Coultrap School (which has been the case previously for many years). The problem is that Coultrap School is currently being demolished! So, who pays for having to send out corrections on this? Is Cunningham's office that insulated from what is going on in the real world? Fred Cregier
