2 People Report Thefts During Stay, Wait at Delnor Hospital

Geneva police blotter contains two reports of November theft at the Randall Road hospital.

Two people filed reports with Geneva police saying their valuables were taken this month while they were either staying overnight or waiting at Delnor Hospital.

The reports were filed separately and contained no note suggesting the crimes were related.

One incident was between Nov. 5 and Nov. 10, the other on Nov. 23. One involved cash taken from a wallet, the other was a wallet and cell phone reportedly removed from a purse. Both thefts were under $500.

Here are the two reports:

Theft Under $500—Someone took a cell phone and wallet from a purse sitting on the chair of a waiting room at Delnor Hospital, 300 South Randall Road, sometime around 1 p.m. Nov. 23, reports said. A wallet and cell phone with earphones were in the purse. The owner said she was making coffee in an adjacent room, and when she returned, she found her earphones but not her phone or wallet. The estimated value of the stolen items is $400.

Theft Under $500—Someone took $150 in cash from a wallet of a patient staying at Delnor Hospital, 300 South Randall Road, sometime between 1 p.m. Nov. 5 and 3 p.m. Nov. 10, reports said. The wallet was in the owner’s pants pocket when he checked into the Emergency Room on Nov. 5, and the pants were inside a bag of clothing that was in his room during his stay at the hospital, according to the report. Delnor security conducted an investigation with negative results, police said.
