2 of Three Charged With Underage Drinking also Face Cannabis Charges in St. Charles

All three are arrested Jan. 17-18 in separate incidents in a parking lot at 731 N. 17th St.

St. Charles police arrested two young men on alcohol and cannabis charges after an officer on patrol at Under the Big Top, 731 N. 17th St., discovered them in a parked car Friday night, Jan. 17, 2014.


A third man was arrested in the same area on similar charges 2½ hours later.


According to the report, the officer began patrolling the lot on foot when he noticed two people inside a parked car. As he approached, the officer saw the driver pass what appeared to be a plastic bag and pipe to the passenger. When he confronted the two, they also turned over the material and also surrendered a 1.75-liter bottle of Jagermeister and a half-full can of Keystone Light beer. Police found two pipes in the vehicle.

John William Goodrich, 20, of the 1N400 block of Country Life Drive, Maple Park, was arrested at 10:12 p.m. on a charge of underage possession/consumption of alcohol. Kory Timothy Crotteau, 20, of the 4N400 block of Citation Lane, Elburn, was arrested at the same time and location on charges of underage possession/consumption of alcohol, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Goodrich and  Crotteau were each released with a notice to appear in Kane County Court on Feb. 20, 2014.

Just 2½ hours later, at 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, a second officer patrolling the same parking lot when he noticed a parked car with its driver’s door open and an adult male apparently leaning on the door from the driver’s seat.


The officer approached the vehicle and saw a pool of vomit outside the car door and noticed that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. Joseph Evan McLean, 18, of the 3S200 block of Juniper, Glen Ellyn, at first denied he had been drinking, but then told the officer he had been doing shots of vodka inside the business.


The officer also found a pipe and a plastic bag containing cannabis inside the vehicle.


McLean was arrested on charges of underageconsumption of alcohol, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a notice to appear in Kane County Court on Feb. 6, 2014.
