Batavia police reported a residential burglary in the 0-99 block of North Batavia Avenue at 10:43 p.m. Oct. 19. The report said the front door was damaged and the living room and bedroom were disturbed but nothing was taken. Batavia Detective Sgt. Shawn Mazza said the burglary occurred sometime within a 12 hour window.
"The owner is in the inventory process to make sure nothing was taken," Mazza said.
A second residential burglary occurred between 9:40 a.m. and 5:29 p.m. in the 0-99 block of North Jefferson Street, reports said. The burglary took place sometime within an eight-hour window. The front door was damaged, small electronic devices possibly were missing, Mazza said.
"Both cases are being actively investigated," Mazza said, adding that it is "unknown as of this time if either of these cases are related."
In August, three burglaries were reported in the 900 to 1200 blocks of Woodland Hills Drive and the 1600 block of Wagner Road. The home-burglaries took place between Aug. 5 and Aug. 14, 2013, and involved the taking of electronic devices late at night when residents were in the homes.
On Aug. 16, Batavia police reported that they had had arrested four people in connection with the home burglaries.
