Don't let the "North Kirk Road" and "South Kirk Road" subheads fool you. These are two accidents on the same day, and basically at the same place: intersection of Kirk Road and East State Street.
East State is, of course, Route 38, and Kirk Road is actually Highway 77, according to the police reports.
There was only between $501 and $1,500 damage to any one vehicle in both accidents, but it goes to show that Kirk and State on Jan. 20 was not a safe place to be.
Accident on South Kirk Road—The passenger side of a Hyundai Sonata driven by Thomas McShane, 57, of Algonquin collided with the rear of a Jeep Cherokee driven by William Klinowski, 44, of Geneva around 2:35 p.m. Jan 20 in the 0-99 block of South Kirk Road (Highway 77) about 100 feet south of East State Street, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle.
Accident on North Kirk Road—The front of a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Donald Murray, 66, of Geneva collided with the rear of a Mercedes GLK350 driven by Carol Bannon, 74, of Geneva around 9:17 a.m. Jan. 20 in the 0-99 block of North Kirk Road about 10 feet north of East State Street, reports said. Between $501 and $1,500 damage was done to any one vehicle. Murray was issued a warning ticket for following too closely.
