Concert for a Cure quickly approaching

This year's Concert for a Cure, on August 2, will be held at the Arcada Theater and will feature Steve Augeri, former lead singer of Journey. Local band, Fargo, will open for Augeri, as will Noah's Arcade.

The change is inspired in part by unpredictable weather that the concert's organizers struggle with every year, and by the generosity of the owner of the Arcada, Ron Onesti.
"Ron has been gracious enough to allow us to be the recipient of all proceeds from ticket sales, and we are happy to be a part of this outpouring of community support," says founder, Paul Ruby.

Ruby was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2006, and the Paul Ruby Foundation for Parkinson's Research began in 2007. Since its inception, the foundation has raised over $500,000 to support Parkinson's research. All money raised goes to Northwestern University's Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center.

"One of the reasons we've been so successful as an organization is that we have this huge support system in the community. Everyone does what they can and helps whenever possible. People are constantly asking how they can help and what the next opportunity will be. We are extremely fortunate", says Dawn Vogelsberg, Executive Director of the foundation.

Tickets are still available for the August 2nd concert. Visit www.paulrubyfoundation.org to get your tickets today!
