Celebs on the Move This Week

This week we have a home buyer, home seller and an unbelievable rental coming on the market (You think you pay a lot in rent?  Just wait...)!

Forget Portland: Fred Armisen Buys in LA
Fred Armisen may pursue a life of hipsterdom on the popular TV show “Portlandia,” which pokes fun at the cultural happenings and leanings of Portland, OR, but his real home is about 1,000 miles south of the “City of Roses.”
Tucked away on a hillside lot, Armisen’s 1,446 square-foot home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a detached garage and unfinished bonus space. The kitchen, like the rest of the house, was updated and features a reclaimed barn wood island, marble countertops and a farmhouse sink.

John Hughes Lake Forest Estate Back On Market With Price Cut
Screenwriter, director, producer and film auteur John Hughes' former home in Lake Forest has been relisted for sale. The seven bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom home first went up for sale in 2011, two years after Hughes suffered a fatal heart attack. At three stories and over 11,000 square feet the home built in 1929 is no McMansion. Originally listed at $5.89 million, the home goes back up with a sizable $1.6 million price chop and is currently seeking $4.295 million. Many of Hughes' most famous films took place and were filmed in the Chicago suburbs, including The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles and Home Alone. Hughes will be sincerely missed by those who grew up with his films, but his legacy (and former home) still remain.

There’s nothing “Nasty” about trying to get top dollar for your luxury apartment in the heart of midtown Manhattan, even if you’re Janet Jackson, who not only has her own stash of cash but is married to a billionaire.
The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom unit sits on the 34th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows flooding it with light and expansive views of Central Park. The unit is being rented furnished or unfurnished, and a new tenant will have use of the amenities inside Trump International, including pool, spa, maid service, valet parking and 24-hour room service from the celebrated chefs at Jean Georges.
