Changing Children's Worlds Foundation raffling off ADA compliant PlayHouse
MidWest Remodeling is Building ADA Compliant CCWF PlayHouse
Geneva, Illinois – July 7, 2014 – Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation’s PlayHouse Project will include one ADA Compliant PlayHouse.
All parents want their children to have fun and be happy. Children with special needs often have limited access to play with toys and equipment that other kids enjoy. MidWest Remodeling aims to change this by building a playhouse compliant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that will be raffled off as a part of Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation’s public awareness campaign: The PlayHouse Project. This education and public awareness campaign aims to promote empathy and parent-child communications, interactions, and relationships.

Changing Children’s Worlds Foundation’s PlayHouse Project has had four custom- built playhouses donated by Northern Illinois Home Builders Association members to raffle off, one of which will be an ADA compliant playhouse. The ADA compliant playhouse will be in a separate raffle for a family with, or an organization serving, children with special needs! This playhouse will include a doorway that is 34 inches wide, a detachable wheelchair ramp, a foldable table inside, a transom window to increase lighting and visibility, cubbies at different heights, and an outside chalkboard. The ADA compliant playhouse will debut at Firin’ Up the Fox in St. Charles on July 11 and the Kane County Fair on July 16. The raffle of this playhouse will take place at the NIHBA Cavalcade of Homes in Naperville, IL on August 17. CCWF playhouses will be exhibited, along with Child/Parent Development Program materials, throughout Kane and DuPage counties from July 11 to September 28, 2014. Raffle tickets will be available on-site and from the CCWF website www.changingchildrensworlds.org. The final drawing for the PlayHouse Project will take place at CCWF’s September 28 Fundraiser at Cantigny Golf Course in Wheaton, IL.
