Tri-Cities Death Notices Include St. Charles Developer, Former Co-Owner of Chronicle Publishing

  • Evelyn C. Simek, 93, was the loving wife of the late Howard, beloved sister of Robert (Satoko) Wainwright and the late Albert Wainwright, cherished cousin of Bernadette, loving aunt of many.
  • John Allan Paschal “Packy”, 80, a lifelong resident of St. Charles, served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant (JG) on active duty from July 1955 to October 1958, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve until August 1966. He was co-owner of the Chronicle Publishing Company, now Warwick, and served as Vice-President and President; and he served as Publisher of the former Chronicle newspapers.
  • Ethel M. Small, 98, of St. Charles, is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (James) Recchia, Diane (Phil) Gillespie, eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
  • George Edmund “Eddie” Fosse, a World War II veteran and longtime resident of St. Charles, died on Memorial Day, May 27, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was an official court reporter for the state of Illinois for almost a half century, including 40 years at the Kane County Courthouse in Geneva, and he served as president of the Illinois Court Reporters Association for two terms. Following his retirement in 1997, he became a bailiff at the Courthouse until retiring a second time in 2010 at the age of 86.

  • Betty Ann Mabbs, 84, of Batavia, passed away June 3, 2013 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL at a later date.
  • Dominick Anthony Bagnasco, 91, of Batavia was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Tina” Guadagno May 11, 1946, in Chicago, and is survived by his two sons, Anthony (Patricia) Bagnasco of St. Charles, IL and Dominick Bagnasco of Geneva; three grandsons, three great-grandchildren and many others.
  • R. Norton Richards died June 2, 2013. An obituary is pending.
  • Harriet G. Roland, 83, of Geneva, is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her loving children and 10 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be directed to Altrusa International Fund Fox Valley, 2969 Caldwell Lane, Geneva, IL 60134.
  • Salvator (Sal) Stanley Lobianco, 91, of Rogers, AR, formerly of St. Charles, joined the U.S. Army in 1943, during WWII, earning the rank of Mess Sergeant. He later joined the Army National Guard, in 1950 during the Korean Conflict, as a paratrooper. He became a prominent land developer and homebuilder in St. Charles, from 1945 to 1973. Known by his business associates as Sal Lobianco & Son, his beautiful subdivisions of Weber’s Grove, Bonnie Valley, Lake Charlotte and Mary Meadows still grace the Fox Valley area today along with numerous other custom homes he designed and built.
  • Sandra Lee Hunt, 47, of Minooka and formerly of Aurora passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2013 at her residence. She is survived by her husband Roger; four children Christina (Daniel) Fabini, Ashley Hunt, Timothy (Shannon) Hunt and Laura Johnston; seven grandchildren and many others.
