Geneva lost one of its most prominent citizens this week with the passing of Allen Mead, 95, former editor and publisher of The Geneva Republican. His was one of several posted this week by area funeral homes.

• Edward G. Zarrella, 66 of St. Charles.

• Russell Ernest Johnson, 90, of North Aurora. Visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., and a memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia.
• Ronald Bowling McConnaughay, 71, of Chicago, formerly of Batavia.
