St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia lost some remarkable people in the past week. Here is a brief description along with links to their stories and funeral arrangements.
Malone Funeral Home
- Robert J. Lenski, 76, of Geneva, loving uncle to many, had a career as a designer of analog, digital and microprocessor circuits.
- Frank L. Larocca, 81, of Geneva proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved working for Larocca Associates in Chicago but his greatest enjoyment in life, was spending time with family and friends.
Yurs Funeral Home
- Mary T. Agnew, 86, of St. Charles
- Marilyn Snow, 69, of St. Charles, whose career spanned more than 29 years at Delnor Hospital, was a great listener, loving wife, mother and grandma—a strong woman with a sensational sense of humor and great faith.
- Robert Michael (Bob) Kuhn, 82, of St. Charles, flew west on Thursday, March 21, 2013, He was a veteran of the Korean War in which he flew 97 missions and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a commercial airline pilot for TWA for 30 years, the life of the party whose own life revolved around serving family and friends.
- Adolph “Bud” Shulske, 84, of Naperville and formerly of St. Charles, served in the United States Navy, where he was a Machinist Mate on the USS Ben Franklin CV-13.
- The Rev. Monsignor Robert B. Hoffman died Saturday, March 23, 2013, in his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was named a Prelate of Honor by His Holiness Pope John Paul II on June 24, 1998, and was a former pastor at St. John Neumann Parish, St. Charles, and dean of the Elgin Deanery.

- Todd Michael Hegy, 56, of Batavia greatly enjoyed music, traveling, camping, gardening and a good time.
- Frank M. Hassler, 92, of Hinckley, proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps, worked for General Mills as a maintenance manager for almost 18 years until his retirement and loved rural life on his farm property in Hinckley, traveling and camping with his family.
- Dorothy Marie Evensen, 96, loved her family and the music that they were all so passionate about. She was the light in everyone’s heart.
- Priscilla Brittin, 93, a 17-year teacher who first taught at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School for hearing and sight impaired and later taught at Edward Jenner Elementary School in the Cabrini Greene Housing Projects of the inner city of Chicago.
