Geneva Mourns John Anzelone, George C. Mcllvaine and Many Others

Remembrances and links to the obituaries from Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles funeral homes, for the week prior to Nov. 12, 2013.

Malone Funeral Home

  • Delores M. Klotz, 82, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to a funeral service at noon Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Malone Funeral Home.
  • John Anzelone, 56, of Geneva, worked for many years as production manager for Shale-Inland Metal Stamping and Fabricating in Schiller Park. On his days off, John loved to get in a game of golf or relax while watching his beloved Cubs. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
  • Bernice P. Syperski, 97, of Aurora, found great joy in raising her family. She particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed knitting and doing crafts in her free time. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Yurs Funeral Homes

  • George C. Mcllvaine, 85, of St. Charles, spent his working career at Cetron Electronics and Richardson Electronics in Geneva. He was an avid downhill skier and enjoyed spending time on the slopes in Colorado. He was a member of the Snowdrifters Ski Club in St. Charles.
  • Eleanor M. Pratscher, 86, of St. Charles, is survived by her sons, Ron, of Geneva, Paul (Kim) of the Colony, TX, loving grand-daughters Lauren, Melanie, and Kristin.

  • Duy ("Ruy") Binh Nguyen, 79, fled Communist rule in Vietnam in 1975 to plant new roots in America. Ruy was a political activist, community organizer, original member of the Vietnamese Association of Illinois, proud member of the Steelworkers Union and avid gardener.
  • Erik J. Krauch, 35, of Batavia, proudly served his country in the Air Force. During his service, he was awarded Airman of the Year. He was a dedicated and honorable crew chief who served many tours of duty in Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, and many other countries. After his service, he worked for the Department of Defense on the Predator Program followed by Lockheed-Martin, where he worked on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Testing Program. As a fan of politics and conservative talk radio, he served an internship for the Jerry Doyle and Heidi Harris shows, who are nationally syndicated talk show hosts, where he lovingly earned the handle “Big E Talk.” He was a loving and devoted father to MacKenzie and Kaydence Krauch as well as a loving and devoted husband and friend.
  • George F. Gebes, 98, of Batavia, was a U.S. Navy veteran who saw action throughout the island campaigns, including Okinawa and Iwo Jima. He was the co-founder of the VFW Post 1197 and Batavia Overseas Club. His many community involvements included serving as Fourth Ward Alderman for Batavia, member of the Kane County Mounted Patrol, and a 77-year member of Holy Cross Church where he was an usher for over 50 years.
  • James “Jim” E. Petersen, 70, of St. Charles, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at JourneyCare in Woodstock. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Teresa (Richard) Mendoza of East Dundee, Sara (Kenneth Mwangi) Ndonga of St. Charles, and Alicia Petersen of Lisle.
