Former Chief Judge Dixon, 69, of Geneva Loses Battle with Rare Form of Appendix Cancer

Patrick Dixon was one of Kane County's legendary judges.

Patrick Dixon was one of the good ones.

In a career that spanned more than two decades as judge and chief judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit, he impacted the lives and the local governments of the Kane County communities he served, and the place he called home.

“It was with great sadness that I learned yesterday of the death of Judge Patrick Dixon after his bout with cancer," said Kane County State's Attorney Joseph McMahon in an e-mailed statement. "He was a friend and mentor to many in the Kane County courts. He was a servant of the people who dedicated many years to the citizens of Kane County, the judiciary and to the bar. And he was a man who always tried to personify fairness. My condolences go out to his family and many friends. He will be missed.”
