Peck Farm is celebrating Heritage Day this Saturday, April 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This NEW family-friendly event will educate all ages about the history of Peck Farm Park with entertaining activities, traditional children's games, crafts, sheep herding and more! Heritage Day is FREE to the public, and the perfect excuse to get outside on a fabulous spring Saturday.

Peck Farm was once owned by some-five generations of the Peck Family, which operated the land as a sheep farm from the 1860s through World War I. After the war, the farm grew grain for cattle feed. In 1991,what remained of the farm was granted to the park district to perserve open space.

Learn more about what it was like to live on Peck Farm through interactive activities like candle dipping, butter making, lawn games and even cow milking! The FREE event will also include working loom, wool spinning, sheep herding, and basket weaving demonstrations. From 11:30 - 2:30, enjoy FREE Hay Rides (weather permitting). Concessions will be available for sale.
