The Mayor and Your Alderman Deserve Your Vote

If you feel that Geneva is one of the best places to live on earth show your support for the people that were able to keep it that way through the worst economic times of our age. They deserve it.

My wife and I and both of our kids voted for Kevin Burns last week, and we hope that you will too. The four of us combine for 115 years of residency in this community, and we are proud to call Geneva home.

The Mayor, the city administration, and the city council have done an outstanding job of steering our town through the worst economic upheaval anyone has seen since the Great Depression, and they all deserve our gratitude for jobs well done. As a result of their efforts Geneva remains the envy of our peers in Kane County, throughout Illinois, and across the country.

The challenger ran a good campaign and did the only thing he could realistically do, which was to find faults and exploit them to support an argument for change. But, at the end of the day there is no denying that Geneva remains the gold standard against which all other small towns measure their success.  Claims that our city resources aren't managed properly and our downtown is in shambles belie the irrefutable evidence one sees with a simple stroll down Third Street, the envy of every small town in America.

My family is blessed and extremely grateful for the opportunity we have to live in this great community, and as a token of our gratitude for a job well done we have cast our votes for our Mayor and our alderman. If you feel as we do that Geneva is one of the best places to live on earth I encourage you show your support for the people that were able to keep it that way through the worst economic times of our age. They deserve it.
