Kane County Redistricting: Public Comment on Final Draft Map Wednesday

The Kane County Redistricting Task Force will meet tonight at 5:00 at the Kane County Government Center, possibly for the last time, to review the new 24-seat map. Public comment will be taken.

The Kane County Redistricting Task Force will hold what could be its final meeting Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Kane County Government Center to review the final draft of a new county board district map delineating 24-seats.  The public will be offered an opportunity to comment.

Several since the task force last met on April 21.  Most of the changes are in the north and south to accommodate political party and minority population parity on the board.  In the central area of the county, including my District 11, only minor changes were made to comply with population equivalency requirements. Copies of the revised maps will be available for public inspection prior to tonight's meeting.

Following public input and further discussion by task force members a vote is anticipated to formally recommend the map to the full county board for final action on May 10.
