Register for Granquist Music Competition

Registration has begun for the Granquist Music Competition, the largest music competition in the State of Illinois. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Geneva Community High School, 416 McKinley Avenue. Teachers are encouraged to enroll students as early as possible. Mail in registrations will be accepted until May 20; online entries will be accepted until May 23. 

This is the 44th year of the competition established in 1970 by music educator Herb Granquist. We are pleased to announce that the Granquist family is carrying on the tradition by coordinating the competition.  Students are grouped by instrument, age and years of instruction. A first, second and third place is awarded in each class.   Solos, duets and ensembles are all encouraged to register.  There are two levels of competition—Olympic and Concert.
