Laura Rush: Get Out Your Dancing Shoes, Your Caffeine and 15 Minutes of NBC5 Fame Is Yours, Geneva!

How many times have I said ? Probably too many to count. Now is the chance to let the Chicagoland (and Northern Indiana) viewing area to see firsthand what makes Geneva so special.

On June 24 (aka Friday of Swedish Days or Kids' Day), NBC Channel 5 will be broadcasting live on Third Street in Geneva starting at 4:30 a.m.!

Yes, I said 4:30 a.m., which is when the morning show starts. Details are still to come but it seems there will be three live shots during the 4:30 - 7 a.m. time frame.  In addition, for those who watch this morning broadcast, Friday also means Dance Friday at the end of the broadcast.

Geneva's homegrown , who does traffic during this broadcast, started the tradition years ago. At approximately 6:55 a.m., an upbeat, fun song will play and the shows personalities, along with the crowd gathered outside the Channel 5 studio in Chicago, will dance the show out.

And on June 24, they will be showing Geneva live during Dance Friday. So, let's make Geneva and Matt Rodewald proud by showing Geneva and Swedish Days spirit.

Looking to have hundreds gathered on Third Street during the entire broadcast, but of course for Dance Friday segment. Start coming down at 5 a.m. Wear blue, yellow or anything Geneva. No RSVP necessary—just show up with a smile and enthusiasm.
