Burns 2012: Welcome To Our New Blog

Welcome to our new blog. The Patch has generously offered all candidates running for the office of chairman of the Kane County Board the opportunity to keep in touch with voters, and we have accepted the offer.

Over the next few months, I and my campaign team will use this space to let readers know who we are, what our experience is, and what our plans are for the future of Kane County. We'll also include a campaign calendar to keep you informed of events and activities. 

On March 20, you and your neighbors will have the opportunity to choose between a career politician who has spent nearly 19 years 200 miles from Kane County or a three-term mayor located in central Kane County whose work is focused on improving the lives of its residents and the climate for its businesses and not-for-profit community. 

The choice is between an "on-the-scene leader" or professional legislator ... a partner or a partisan. 

The next Kane County Board chairman must have the relevant experience necessary to lead a complex and diverse organization; a proven track record of leading a team of professionals; the ability and temperament to build strong relationships with elected and appointed officials at every level of government and business, and the vision to preserve and enhance Kane County's reputation as a premier place to live, learn, work, play and raise a family. 

Kane County cannot afford to hire someone who requires "on-the-job training."

On March 20, I ask for your vote and invite you to join me in shaping the future of Kane County for the benefit of all who call Kane County home.
