Karen Ramey Phillips: Are Taxpayers Getting a Halloween Trick or a Halloween Treat?

Fellow Kane County taxpayers, what are we experiencing this Halloween season?

After all, Halloween night is also knows as All Souls night. Are we experiencing some special form of spell that has befallen our local political leaders? Are they ripping up the documents of Halloweens past, of higher taxes?

Did they hear our screams on tax day?

Are they brewing up a new potion of reform? What spell has been cast upon them for a desire to change the course of the past and give us a "treat" of tax relief?

Let's hope this isn't a trick that won't wear away after Tuesday, March 20.
