Geneva Schools Earn Place on National AP Honor Roll

Geneva High School offers 13 advanced-placement courses, including English Literature, French, Spanish, German, Studio Art, Calculus AB, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, European History, U.S. History and U.S. Government.

Geneva Community Unit School District 304 is one of fewer than 500 public school districts in the U.S. and Canada that earned a place on the College Board 4th Annual AP District Honor Roll.  The honor roll recognizes districts for simultaneously increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) coursework while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams.

A total of 477 school districts in the U.S. and Canada are recognized this year. This is the third consecutive year Geneva School District has earned a place on this prestigious list.

Placement on the 4th Annual AP District Honor Roll is based on examination of three years of AP data: 2011, 2012 and 2013 data form all students who took AP exams in May of those years.  The Honor Roll is made up of only those public school districts that are simultaneously expanding opportunity and improving performance.

Geneva High School currently offers 13 AP courses, including AP English Literature and Composition, AP French Language, AP Spanish Language, AP German Language, AP Studio Art, AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP European History, AP United States History, and AP US Government/Politics.

“This award reflects the excellent work of our staff in moving our curriculum forward through increased rigor and opportunities for our students at Geneva High School,” said Superintendent Dr. Kent Mutchler.
