Happy Ending for Dog Hit by Car in Geneva

After nobody stepped forward to claim Sid, formerly "Holden," one of the technicians at his St. Charles animal hospital finally took him into their home.

A dog whose future seemed in severe doubt after being badly injured by a car on June 23 near the CVS on Geneva's east side now has his "forever home" after being adopted by a technician at the St. Charles Veterinary Clinic, where the pooch underwent treatment, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

According to the paper, no owner could be found for boxer-mix Sid, formerly dubbed Holden by vets, so after treatment and surgery on the dog's teeth (funded by Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets of St. Charles,) he was taken in by 26-year-old tech Matt Klimek-Sulak.

“I saw the look on his face and heard his back story and I had to give him a good home... He is the best dog I could have asked for,” Klimek-Sulak told the paper.

“If I’m home, he’s always next to me. When we walk, he always has to look back and make sure I’m still there.”
