Sensible Threadz Rounds Up Books for Literacy Program!

(St. Charles, IL 07/08/11)

Sensible Threadz, a new discount retail store, located at 208 S. Kirk Road in St. Charles, is currently assisting the Literacy Volunteers of Illinois from July 15th – August 15th for the Back to School Season. They are currently collecting gently-used books for children through adult literacy programs. For a 3 Gently-Used Book Donation, Sensible Threadz will provide 10% off a clothing item in the store.

Literacy Volunteers of Illinois, was founded in 1979 as an independent, self-supporting tax exempt organization to serve as a technical assistance and training agency for volunteer literacy programs for adults and teens who generally read below a fifth grade level. The goal of LVI is to motivate individuals enrolled in the programs to develop habits of lifelong learning and moving beyond attaining minimal literacy and conversational English skills. To find out more about their programs or how to become a literacy volunteer, call 312-857-1582 or visit their website at www.lvillinois.org.
“What a great way to help others learn and read while saving money on your back to school clothing!” says Carol Frey, Owner.
