JLKD Readers on the Run 5k and Kids Run

The 5k Run/Walk event will take place on Saturday, October 6 at 8:30 a.m. at Mooseheart Child City and School in Batavia, Ill. A Kids “Fun Run” will follow at 9:15 a.m.

Event Details

Join the Junior League of Kane & DuPage Counties, Inc. at our Second Annual Readers on the Run 5k and Kids Run. We will raise money for programs benefiting local at-risk youth. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 1/2 mile Junior Bookworm Jog starts at 9:15 a.m. Stay after the run for family activities! Bicycles, in-line skates and other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs and strollers) are not allowed. Dogs are not allowed. Walkers and strollers will start after the run start.

Book Drive

Please bring a new children's book the day of the race and be entered in our raffle! Book donations will benefit our community partners promoting early childhood literacy and school readiness, and will meet emergent needs of local at-risk children and families.

Online registration is open until midnight on September 28. Registration prior to September 28 will ensure you receive a race day T-shirt. Race day registration opens at 7 a.m. and is available for $37. (Cash or check only. T-shirts subject to availability.) Our event is rain or shine, and we cannot offer any refunds.
