"Jailbirds" Help MDA

Community officials, executives and business leaders from the Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia and other surrounding communities are expected to be “locked-up” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. These big hearted “jailbirds” will raise money to benefit local families living with neuromuscular disease.

The Edminson Family, of Geneva, will be key guests of the event as this family is fighting back against Muscular Dystrophy to assist their two sons diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Son Ryan, 11 years old, has also recently been named MDA’s Official Illinois State Goodwill Ambassador.

Participants will “surrender” themselves or arrive via MDA “paddy wagon” to The Claddagh. To be released, these “jailbirds” must raise their “bail” by reaching out to their friends, family and business associates. Bail is set at $1,600, which funds the cost of sending two MDA child clients to MDA summer camp.
