Geneva Church to Show Documentary About Famous Naturalist Aldo Leopold

The documentary “Green Fire,” which explores the life of Aldo Leopold, the foremost naturalist of the 20th century, will be shown at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20 at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, located at 110 S. 2nd Street in downtown Geneva.

Aldo Leopold’s life work was a stellar example of learning by experience. Leopold originally encouraged hunting wolves so that elk could thrive. Once the wolf population was significantly reduced, he realized the increased elk population was destroying the balanced ecosystem that had existed.

The film is part of the free monthly third-Friday Film programs which are sponsored by the Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva. The public is encouraged to register at http://content.uusg.org/friday-flicks/ to receive email notices of future programs.
