Garden Party Tickets on Sale

Tickets go on sale April 25 for Garden Party 2012, Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice’s annual fund-raising event.  The event will be held on Wednesday, May 30, at the Q Center in St. Charles.

This year, the event will feature a fashion show highlighting spring fashions – from casual to dressy – to fit various body types and budgets.  The fashion show is being produced by local shops Jeans and a Cute Top Shop in St. Charles and Special Occasions on the Avenue in Batavia.

In addition, the most popular feature of Garden Party, the expansive “basket” showcases, will abound.  These showcases are large groupings of items, gift certificates, and services, all focused on a theme. There’ll be 21 packages in all, including the popular Apple of My iPad, Fantasy Getaway, Chicago Chicago, and Patio Pleasures, as well as new packages like Imagine the Possibilities (a $4,000 Visa Card to use for whatever you choose) and Shop ‘Til You Drop (stuffed with gift cards from retail shops throughout the Fox Valley area).

The day will also include an expansive silent auction -- offering everything from toys to jewelry; from massages to wine tastings; from lodging in exciting places to Cubs/Sox/Blackhawks tickets.  A complete list of all silent auction and basket showcase offerings will be posted on-line about ten days prior to the event.

A gourmet lunch will be served, and the popular Aurora firemen will conduct a live auction, which will include a 5-course dinner for 10 catered in-home by Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Book of Mormon tickets, stays in Cancun and Useppa Island, Florida, and a day of sailing with catered lunch on Lake Michigan.

New this year is an on-line auction for a premier parking spot, just steps from the Garden Party entrance.  The auction runs from April 25 to May 23 at noon. 

Garden Party tickets may be purchased on-line (www.fvvh.org), by phone (630-232-2233), or at the FVVH offices, 200 Whitfield Drive, Geneva, starting at 8 a.m. on April 25.  A limited number of tickets will be sold.

Garden Party raises nearly one-third of Fox Valley Volunteer Hospice’s annual budget, allowing the agency to continue to offer support for those with life-threatening illnesses and those who have lost loved ones in Kane and Kendall counties and parts of DuPage, Cook and McHenry counties.
