"Breaking the Silence on Domestic Abuse"-a professional panel hosted by the Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia

The Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia, a local chapter of Zonta International, is comprised of professional women who strive to advance the educational, economic, health, legal, political and professional status of women. This has been accomplished through three primary activities: an educational scholarship program, service grants, and service projects. The Zonta club and Zonta International are dedicated to, among other things, promoting justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. Domestic violence is rampant in the United States and overseas. Zonta is committed to working with local partners to stop the violence happening in our neighboring bedrooms and backyards.

To that end, the Zonta Club of St. Charles-Geneva-Batavia is proud to present "Breaking the Silence on Domestic Abuse." A professional panel consisting of three executive directors of local shelters and crisis centers, a member of the 16th Judicial Family Violence Coordination Council, a judge of the 16th Judicial Court and the head of the Domestic Violence Division of the State’s Attorney’s Office will speak to the public about the signs of domestic violence and the importance of advocacy, intervention and compassion in striving to eradicate this heinous crime.
