Agriculture in Kane County

Exploring the variety of data available through the USDA Census of Agriculture is fascinating. You can browse data by state and county to find a plethora of statistics about farmland, farmers, production, and  more. The Census of Ag is taken every five years; 2012 data will be released in February 2014, so right now the most recent data is from 2007.

The following are a few interesting stats we’ve pulled about agriculture in Kane County that illustrate the hard work of our local farmers and the significant impact they have on our local economy. It will be interesting to see how things have changed once the 2012 data is released.
