Faith Christian's schedule set for LSA State Volleyball Tournament

Faith Christian Academy faces 2012 state champion Peoria Christ Lutheran to open pool play at the 2013 Lutheran Sports Association (LSA) state volleyball tournament on Friday, Nov. 1 in Springfield.

Here is a link to the full LSA tournament schedule.

Faith is in the gray pool of the 24-school tournament. The Falcons' first pool-play match is at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 1 against Christ Lutheran School of Peoria. The match will be played at Trinity Lutheran School in Springfield. To be the best, you've got to beat the best, so the Falcons welcome this exciting opportunity just as we welcomed the challenge of the Aurora Central Catholic Tournament.

FCA's second match is at 5:45 p.m. with Salem Lutheran of Jacksonville. The match will take place at Concordia Lutheran School.

Faith closes out pool play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday against Trinity Lutheran of Edwardsville at Lincoln Land Community College.

The teams with the top eight records after pool play advance to the championship bracket, while the teams with the ninth- to 16th-best records qualify for the consolation bracket. Both brackets occur Saturday afternoon and evening. The first-, third-, fifth-, seventh- and ninth-place finals are on Sunday.

Representing FCA in Springfield will be Anneliese Lockner, Lauren Caprini, Ally Will, Gigi Crescenzo, Jess Chiaro, Anna Verhage, Meagan Clemens, Jessica Smith and Nicki Smith. Please pray that the team has a fantastic time shining the light of Christ in its play, character, support and conduct throughout the tournament!
