FCA tips off 19th season of Falcons boys basketball program
Faith Christian Academy welcomed 14 student-athletes to season 19 of its boys basketball program at the Falcons' first practice of the 2013-2014 season Wednesday.
This year's FCA squad is led by team captain Greg Betzelos. The seventh-grade point guard, who was the team's most valuable player last season, enters his fourth year in the program. He is joined by co-captains Ben Riner and Charlie Heredia and 10 other players: sixth-graders Ethan Hansen, Josiah Gartner and Ethan Winkler; fifth-graders Chris Nosewicz, Cole Schulze, Sam Tiedke, Bryce Riner, Michael Heredia, Derek Haaf and Johnny Psyhos and fourth-grader Henry McGowen.
The Falcons return to practice on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The team's first game is Thursday, Nov. 7 against Haines Middle School at FCA. The school will honor the team at a pep rally on Nov. 7 to kick off the team's schedule. Faith's schedule concludes Jan. 9
The team's theme for this season is "All In." It is based on Colossians 3:23 -- Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. The guys desire to be "all in," fully committed to giving their best on the court to the Lord and to their team.
Go Falcons!
