Paige Petty serves Faith Christian volleyball past Westfield
With Faith Christian Academy trailing 24-21 in the second set, Paige Petty came through in the clutch, confidently drilling five straight service points to propel the Falcons to a 25-18, 26-24 varsity volleyball victory over Westfield Middle School on Monday in Bloomingdale. Great work, Broadway, and the Falcons!
FCA's match was an all-girls match-up at Westfield's request, the first time during the co-ed volleyball season that Faith has fielded an all-girls lineup. Paige earned the hustle award for her great passing to the setter, passes over the net and hustle to the ball in addition to her clutch serving. Grace Hansen earned the best attitude award for a solid all-around performance. Well done, girls, with plenty of help from Jessica Smith (two digs, two assists, two kills), Mackenzie VanDerSnick (five passes to setter, two kills, one dig), Nicki Smith (three kills) and the rest of the squad.
Faith next visits Wheaton Christian for a doubleheader on Wednesday. The Falcons play Wheaton's 8th-grade boys squad at 4:15 p.m., then take on WCGS's 7th-grade boys at 5:15. Go Falcons!
